We were on the Planning, Design and Compliance (PDC) team to ensure commissioning compliance by the proponents and the Project Co for this IO project.  This 200,000 sq ft building was the largest single building in King City.  This multi-disciplinary academic building welcomes 1,450 new students to the campus.  It had approximately 25 classrooms, computer labs and specialty labs for training health-care practitioners, a library, learning commons and student study space.  It also housed a new student area with a multi-purpose athletic and recreation space, gymnasium, fitness centre, informal study areas and event spaces. This project targeted LEED Gold certification, with a budget of $70.9M. Additionally, Seneca retained us as the Owner’s Commissioning Representative to go beyond the PDC’s scope.  This is assigned to our firm due to the success of our previous campus expansion project with the College at the Newham Campus.  Our hands-on approach to commissioning and our attention to detail were appreciated.  Our new role as a technical advisor for Seneca is to follow the commissioning process closely with site visits and construction meetings and to provide technical assistance and solutions to the team.  We understood this special role and looked out for the interest of the College.
