Isotherm Engineering was engaged to deliver independent mechanical and electrical commissioning services for the Humber College Lakeshore Data Centre. The project involved the renovation and expansion of a live mission-critical facility, requiring careful coordination to integrate new infrastructure while maintaining operational continuity.

Commissioning activities were executed in accordance with the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), and contract documentation. The scope covered HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems, with a strong focus on resilience, redundancy, and system interoperability.

Isotherm also commissioned the renovation and expansion of Critical Alarms Monitoring systems, ensuring accurate alarm generation, prioritisation, and integration with the site monitoring platforms. In parallel, diverse electrical power paths and auxiliary UPS systems for both IT and non-IT loads were commissioned to eliminate single points of failure and support uninterrupted operation.

A structured commissioning process was implemented, with Commissioning Levels (Cx) 1 through 5 successfully completed, including integrated systems testing and failure-mode simulations. This validated system performance under normal, abnormal, and fault conditions, ensuring the facility was delivered fully
